How to Export Comments to Excel with OnStyle
OnStyle allows you to easily extract all comments from your Microsoft Word document and export them into a structured Microsoft Excel file. This is useful for document reviews, regulatory submissions, or version audits.
1.1 When to Use This Feature
- You need to consolidate all reviewer comments into one location.
- You want to filter, analyze, or log comments outside of Word.
- Youโre preparing a comment resolution table or quality review report.
1.2 Prerequisites
- OnStyle must be installed and activated.
- DocConfig assignment is not required to use this feature.
- Your document must contain at least one Word comment.
1.3 How to Export Comments
- Open your document in Microsoft Word.
- Click the OnStyle tab in the Ribbon.
- Go to the Export Options group.
- Click Export Comments to Excel.

- Choose the save location and confirm the file name.
- Click Save.
- The exported Excel file will open automatically.
1.4 Whatโs Included in the Export
Each row in the Excel file contains the following:
