Validation Reports provide a PDF summary of inspection results. They include document statistics, issue summaries, and correction details. Exporting reports creates a permanent record that can be shared or archived for compliance purposes. This feature is available in the Professional edition.
Steps #
- Run an Inspection Set, Inspection Group, or a single inspection module.
- In the Inspection Results pane, select Validation Report tab.
- In Report Options, choose any of the following:
- Automatically open โ opens the PDF in your default viewer.
- Add technical report โ also saves the report in JSON format for audit or integration purposes.
- Display chapter numbers โ adds chapter numbers to the Validation Details section.
- Display page numbers โ adds page numbers to the Validation Details section.
- Include ignored issues โ includes issues marked as ignored.
- Click Create Report.
- Choose a file location and name for the PDF report.
- Click OK to generate the report.

Note
The report only includes findings from the executed module(s), group(s), or set.
Report contents #
- Document โ lists document metadata such as title, author, page count, number of hyperlinks, bookmarks and comments.
- Validation Result โ provides a summary of the validation outcome, including the overall result, the total number of findings, and the counts of resolved and unresolved issues. It also records the date and time of validation.
- Validation Summary โ presents a module-level summary with each executed Inspection Module and the corresponding count of issues. It also highlights corrected or ignored issues.
- Validation Details โ contains a detailed list of individual findings. Each issue is displayed with its description, category, and location reference (chapter and page number if enabled). This section enables precise traceability of issues to their exact position in the document.
