OnStyle provides tools for inserting figures with proper titles and applying figure-related styles. These features ensure figures follow the formatting rules defined in the active DocConfig. Available in both Essential and Professional editions.
Insert a Figure #
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the figure.
- On the OnStyle Ribbon, go to Tools > Figures group.
- Click Create Figure.
- In the dialog, choose whether to insert an image from the Clipboard or from a File.
- (Optional) Enter a Figure Title in the provided field. OnStyle inserts it with automatic numbering and the caption style from the assigned DocConfig.
- (Optional) Select the Footer checkbox to include the footer part defined in the DocConfig.
- Confirm by clicking Insert. OnStyle inserts the figure placeholder with the selected options and applies all styles from the DocConfig.
Insert a Figure Title #
- Place the cursor above or below the figure, as required.
- On the OnStyle Ribbon, go to Tools > Figures group.
- Click Insert Figure Title.
- In the dialog, specify the Label Text (for example, Figure) and select the Label Style. Click Insert.
- OnStyle inserts a properly numbered title in the style defined by the DocConfig (for example, โFigure 1: Titleโ).

Tip
You can also run Insert Figure Title on existing text. In this case, the typed text is automatically converted into a properly numbered Figure Title according to the active DocConfig.
Apply Figure-related styles #
The following predefined styles are available in the Figures group:
- Figure Footer โ applies footer text styling for figure notes or references.
- Figure Placeholder โ inserts a formatted placeholder when an image is not yet available.
- Figure Caption โ applies the caption style and numbering rules defined in the DocConfig.

Tip
Always use OnStyleโs figure tools. Manual insertion of captions or placeholders may cause numbering errors or validation issues.
