Uninstalling OnStyle #

Important

Always close all Word documents before uninstalling to avoid file lock issues.

Step 1 โ€“ Open Add or Remove Programs

  1. In Windows, open the Add or Remove Programs settings.

  1. Type OnStyle in the search bar to filter installed apps.

Step 2 โ€“ Uninstall the Components

Uninstall both components in the following order:

  • First: OnStyle Configuration โ€“ Essential or Professional
  • Then: OnStyle Framework

Click Uninstall and confirm each step.

Step 3 โ€“ Verify Removal

Make sure OnStyle no longer appears in the list of installed programs.

Disabling OnStyle #

Step 1 โ€“ Open Word Options

  1. Open Microsoft Word and click File > Options.
  2. Go to the Add-ins section.

Step 2 โ€“ Manage COM Add-ins

  1. In the Manage dropdown at the bottom, select COM Add-ins and click Go…

  1. Uncheck OnStyle Word Addin and click OK.

Step 3 โ€“ Restart Word

After restarting, the OnStyle tab will no longer appear in the Ribbon.

Note

Disabling OnStyle does not uninstall it. You can re-enable the add-in at any time using the same steps.
