Supported Microsoft Word Versions #

    • Microsoft Word from Microsoft 365 (Office 365)
  • Earlier OnStyle versions:
    • Microsoft Word 2016
    • Microsoft Word 2019

Both 32-bit and 64-bit installations are supported.

Internet and Permissions #

For installation and activation, ensure the following:

  • An active internet connection (for license server communication)
  • User-level installation rights (no admin privileges required for standard installation)
  • Firewall and antivirus settings that allow Word add-ins and outbound connections

Disk Space and Performance Recommendations #

Although OnStyle has a small installation footprint, optimal performance requires:

  • At least 150 MB of available disk space
  • At least 8 GB of RAM
  • Microsoft Word set as the default .docx file editor

Running multiple large Word documents simultaneously may impact validation performance. Close unused files when possible.
